Hi, I’m Andrea. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist with more than 23 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in both mental health and school settings. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children as they navigate emotional challenges, behavioral concerns, life transitions, and relational stressors. One of my greatest joys is witnessing the resilience, creativity, and strengths that children already have within themselves—and helping them learn how to use those strengths to feel more confident, capable, and connected.

My approach to therapy is warm, engaging, and collaborative. I utilize an integrative, strengths-based, and goal-oriented therapeutic approach, tailoring each session to meet the unique developmental, emotional, and relational needs of every child. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, accepted, and understood, so I work to create a supportive environment where they can freely express themselves, explore their emotions, and build skills at their own pace.

When working with children, I use both play therapy and talk therapy to help them manage emotions and behaviors such as anger, anxiety, fear, sadness, restlessness, stress, and challenges related to school or friendships. I specialize in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma and Resilience Therapy, Play Therapy (including sandtray and Theraplay-informed techniques), and Mindfulness practices

to help children develop healthier coping strategies, improve communication, and

strengthen emotional regulation.

As a former School Social Worker, I also have extensive knowledge of school-related issues, including Special Education services, behavioral supports, and academic pressures. I understand how overwhelming school systems can sometimes feel for families, and I am able to help parents navigate educational processes and advocate for their child’s needs. I value collaborating with teachers, counselors, and school support staff to reinforce the skills and strategies children are learning in therapy, helping create consistency and support across settings.

My goal is not only to help children work through challenges, but to empower them to grow, build resilience, and develop tools that will support them throughout their lives. It is truly an honor to walk alongside children and families as they take meaningful steps toward healing, confidence, and hope.
